Public dental services available. Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) was established in 1996 and is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria. We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups and those maximum in need. We help to produce Victorians with quality oral health protection through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RD HM) and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 53 community health agencies throughout Victoria. DHSV uses its leadership role to add value to its relationships with agencies to improve oral health and provide as many oral health services to as many eligible people as possible. Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) operates in a different environment and is proud of its staff and tolerant diversity. DHSV recognizes and values this diversity and endeavors to respond to people’s needs in a culturally competent manner. DHSV uses diverse strategies to ensure we are responsive to this diversity of communities: Integrated community consultation DHSV consults with patients and the Victorian community on the way services are provided and our strategic goals for the future. Our Diversity and Community Participation Plan 1315 involves our communities in the formation of our policies and strategies. Staff involvement DHSV staff from all levels are encouraged to actively participate in community consultation activities. Community representation DHSV committees and working groups include consumers and carers from a variety of backgrounds. The first round table explored the oral health needs of Aboriginal people. The 2009 round table explored how the AC can best promote Community Dental Agencies and their patients. One of the projects supports agencies to urge oral health as an integral portion of general health. The forum is an excellent opportunity for DHSV to support the benefits community participation among st service providers from Australia and Fresh Zealand. Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities' Resource Kit This kit includes information on how to labor effectively with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. All treatment provided in the Dental Teaching Clinics is free of charge and generally waiting times are significantly shorter. If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, RD HM offers you free emergency and general dental concern treatment, including untrue teeth, even if you do not have a health protection card or pensioner concession card.
