Melbourne Girls' Grammar was established as an academic school for girls with well suited teaching staff, many of whom had university qualifications. Morris Hall moved to Caroline Street to a fresh building housing the whole junior school. The spiritual heart of Melbourne Girls' Grammar, the Chapel of St Luke, was consecrated in 1967. Melbourne Girls' Grammar is committed to developing scrupulous women of action. Each year, Melbourne Girls' Grammar students are involved in a range of diverse community service projects. Participation is encouraged in order to prosper leadership skills, punctual personal growth, enrich a sense of community and personal philanthropy. For example, students in Years 9 and 10 are recognized for their contribution to community service activities through the Field Award, designed for girls to reflect on and respond to our School’s holistic expectations. Katie’s family has been associated with Melbourne Girls' Grammar for almost 100 years. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has sat on the Boards of other not for benefit and listed companies as both a director and as a legal adviser. In her management capacity she was responsible for marketing strategy, new product development, project management, brand management and communications and market research for a wide variety of brands. Each of the various stakeholder groups in the School community has appointed members to that company. Actively works to listen to and empower children.
